Clear Answers. Thoughtful Guidance.
Planning cabinetry often comes with important questions. Below are answers to the topics homeowners most frequently ask as they begin designing kitchens, bathrooms, and other spaces within their home.
1. What types of cabinet styles do you offer?
We design cabinetry in a range of styles, including shaker, raised panel, mitered doors, slab fronts, and applied molding details. Each project is tailored to the architecture of the home and the client’s aesthetic preferences—whether classic, transitional, coastal, or contemporary.
2. Do you offer custom cabinets or semi-custom options?
White Water Design provides thoughtfully specified custom cabinetry as well as high-quality semi-custom options, depending on the needs of the space and the investment parameters. We guide clients toward the solution that offers the best balance of design flexibility, durability, and value.
3. How much do custom kitchen cabinets cost?
Cabinet pricing varies based on size, material selection, construction type, finish, and interior features. During our discovery meeting, we discuss budget expectations early to ensure alignment before detailed plans are developed.
4. Is there a fee for the design process?
Yes. We charge a nominal design fee that covers site evaluation, measurements, floorplan development, and concept elevations. When a cabinet contract is signed, that initial design fee is credited back toward the purchase.
5. How long does the cabinetry process take?
Timelines vary depending on scope and manufacturer lead times. On average, cabinetry planning and production may take several weeks, with final scheduling coordinated alongside your renovation timeline to ensure seamless installation.
6. Do you handle installation?
Yes. We coordinate and oversee cabinet delivery and installation to ensure proper fit, finish, and integration with surrounding elements such as countertops, flooring, and appliances.
7. Are you a general contractor?
White Water Design is a cabinetry-focused design firm. About half of our projects involve collaboration with a homeowner’s existing general contractor. In other cases, we guide clients toward trusted professionals whose standards align with ours to ensure a cohesive renovation experience.
8. What areas do you serve?
We are based in Wall Township and primarily serve homeowners throughout Monmouth County, Ocean County, and surrounding communities across Central New Jersey and the Jersey Shore.
9. When should I contact you during a renovation?
The earlier, the better. Bringing cabinetry design into the planning phase allows for better layout decisions, clearer budgeting, and proper coordination with contractors and trades.
10. Do you design cabinetry beyond kitchens and bathrooms?
Yes. We design custom cabinets and built-ins for laundry rooms, mudrooms, home offices, wet bars, libraries, and other specialty spaces throughout the home.
11. What materials and finishes do you offer?
We work with a wide range of premium materials, including domestic and exotic hardwoods such as oak, maple, cherry, walnut, hickory, and more, along with engineered components for added stability. Finish options include custom paint and stain colors, natural stains, satin, semi-gloss, or high-gloss finishes. Every selection is carefully chosen based on durability, design intent, and long-term performance.
12. How do I get started?
The first step is scheduling an in-home consultation. During this meeting, we evaluate your space, discuss goals and outline next steps for developing a design letter which defines the scope of work with clarity.
